Extending Intercessor

Intercessor can be extended through WordPress hooks, report views, REST integrations, and the plugin's existing service/query classes.

Good extension patterns

Add a report view

Use the intercessor_report_views filter to register a custom report renderer.

Add a REST integration

Build on the existing REST namespace and enforce WordPress capabilities for protected operations.

Add custom presentation

Prefer Gutenberg blocks, templates, and CSS customization rather than editing plugin templates directly.

Work with data

Use Intercessor's query classes and row objects. Avoid hard-coding database table names in application code.

Avoid modifying plugin core

Do not edit files inside the installed Intercessor plugin to add custom functionality. Updates can overwrite those changes.

Instead, place custom code in a separate plugin or a site-specific integration and use supported hooks.
