Notifications

Intercessor uses WordPress wp_mail() for email notifications, so delivery is handled by the site's configured WordPress mail system.

New request — administrator

When Notify Admin on New Request is enabled, Intercessor sends the configured administrator address a notification for each new submission.

The recipient defaults to the WordPress site admin email when a dedicated admin notification address is not configured.

Request received — requester

When Notify Requester on Receipt is enabled, Intercessor sends the requester a confirmation after the request is received.

Status changes — requester

When Notify Requester on Status Change is enabled, the requester is notified when the status of their request changes.

Scheduled prayer-count notifications

Intercessor also supports scheduled emails when a request has received prayer interactions. The schedule can be configured as:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly

The send hour and minute are configured in UTC. The default is 08:00 UTC.

The notification job is rescheduled automatically when its frequency or send time is changed in Settings.

Email identity

The Notifications settings include:

  • Admin notification email
  • From name
  • From email address

TIP

If notification messages do not arrive, verify WordPress email delivery independently of Intercessor. A reliable SMTP or transactional mail configuration is often preferable to relying on the hosting server's default mail transport.
